Even after 13 years of cardmaking, I am still trying to improve my design skills.  So, I am trying to participate in several of the card challenge blogs.  Today I am sharing a challenge card that I created for the Just-Add-Ink Design Challenge.  The challenge this week was a sympathy themed card.  Any sketch or color combination.

I chose one of my favorite stamp sets, Beautiful You and used the paper piecing technique on her dress.

Supplies:  Beautiful You stamp set, Momento Black ink, Stampin' Blends, Real Red, Crumb Cake, & Whisper White cardstock, All My Love designer paper, Faceted Gems, Delicate Lace Edgelits, Subtle embossing folder.

Hope you enjoy my card sample.

Kissing Technique!

Hello my Stampin' Friends!

A quick post today sharing one of my April technique cards!

Have you heard of the stamping technique called "kissing"?  The background stamp on this card was first inked up in Soft Sky, then inked in Gray Granite & stamped on the Music background stamp to pick up the music notes.  Then, it was stamped on the Whisper White card front to make this very cool background.  You could experiment with images, and have fun with it.  It think it would also look good with the Crackle background stamp!  Have fun experimenting.... and Happy Stamping!

How I Created a One Sheet Wonder with 6 x 6 Designer Paper!

Good Morning!

Yes, it's another day with a forecast of yet more snow coming tomorrow afternoon.  But on the bright side, it's 1 day closer to Spring!

So, I am focusing on some beautiful new designer paper that just "screams Spring"!

You have probably heard of  the One Sheet Wonder cardmaking technique, where you choose a 12 x 12 piece of designer paper & chop it up and create a stack of cards.  Well, today's post is focusing on a One Sheet Wonder using a piece of 6 x 6 designer paper and creating 3 cards.  If you used a full sheet of 12 x 12, you could create 12 cards using my template!  When you use both sides of the designer paper, you can vary your creations, and in this case, make some masculine cards in the mix.

Ok, let's get started...

First I chose this beautiful paper from the Sale-a-bration selection Painted Season's Bundle.  It is available for FREE with a $100 product purchase from any current Stampin' Up! products. (yes, that includes Clearance Rack items)

On the left, cut your paper at 2" Vertically.  Then cut in half Horizontally at 3", then the top left piece is cut in half at 1 1/2".

The first card was created from the reverse side of the designer paper.  I used the 2 x 4 piece of designer paper on the top, the 1 1/2 piece on the bottom, & a stamped piece of Whisper White for the sentiment in between the designer paper.  The stamped images are from the Geared Up! Garage stamp set, Cardstock is Call Me Clover, cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

Card #2 was created with one of the 3 x 4 pieces of designer paper, a 3 x 4 piece of Early Expresso cardstock, Sentiment from Enjoy Life, & cut from the Stitched Shapes Farmelits.  Also added a piece of 1/4" Copper Trim. Card base is Poppy Parade, cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

Card #3 also uses a piece of  3" x 4" designer paper.  The stamp set is the beautiful Butterfly Gala with the coordinating punch.  Yes, the punch is currently on back order, but it will be available again in March (current projection). I also used the Stitched Shapes framelits (my most used framelits by the way) and Layering Ovals framelits for the Early Expresso layer.  Ribbon is 3/8" Metallic Ribbon.

The Embossing folder is the gorgeous Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2nd release, Sale-a-bration offerings.

Here are all 3 cards....with a  2 x 1 1/2 piece of designer paper left over.
I hope today's cards have inspired you to #loveitchopit
Have a wonderful day!
